Not Yo’ Granny’s Linen
For the past year I have been creating a new series. It's a complete departure from my other works. The timing of this couldn't have been better since it has provided me distraction and company while transitioning in and out and in of Covid stay-at-home mandates. My statement for this series is currently being word-smithed…Rustic Sampler
Happy, happy — summer is here!! Vancouver is a dream in summer. We are blessed with minimum humidity and very fresh air. And although I enjoy my Vitamin D fix, I also enjoy spending a bit of time indoors in the evenings to continue with my projects. Recently I created this sampler, below, to test…
A little surprise {ing}
Psssssst! I’m making something new for the sale. I haven’t said anything before now because I wasn’t sure these would work. I’m making ceramic broaches that are adorned with found, rusted wire. Yes I am! I am treating the wire to keep the patina on… and not rub off onto clothing. Since these are a…
Holiday market collages continue
I am working on my last little collage for the sale. I think this sweet one is missing a little doily pattern. Then, voila! Tous finis!! I hope you’re carving out a bit of time to make something special for the holidays too — either for yourself or your sweetheart. I feel warm and happy creating…
Holiday collage update
Today is a brief update on the little collages I’m creating for the craft market which I’ll be participating in early December. I have just about completed the third one (out of six). It’s quite sweet, don’t you agree?
Keep on, keeping on
I’m ticking along with my little collages for the Holiday fair. I have a photo to share of one that is now complete. Personally I like the interpretation of sharing a meal via the butcher diagram. It’s got that cheeky, retro vibe going. Stay tuned for more.. and thanks for popping in!
Holiday Planning
Sorry if you’re not ready to read this, but I’ve been invited to participate in a private Christmas sale so I’m already in the head-space for “the season”. I’m creating six 6″ x 6″ collages all about food. Since food seems to be the on the mind of many of us when we celebrate together,…
Ta da!
Hello world! If you read my last entry on my Blogger site, you will recall that I promised a new website was in the works for kathrynlissack.com. This is it! My wonderful hubby took over my cause and put this together for me. I am deeply grateful for his time, talent and support. Please take…
Gala Painting : Final
Here's the final painting that came out of my time with Ecole Pauline Johnston. What a great group of kids to work with! Kudos to their teacher, Laura Delasalle, for enthusiastically supporting this project and for accommodating my schedule. This piece really supports the work the school has done in adding to their existing playground…Gala Painting : Day 2
This past Monday the fantastic students at Ecole Pauline Johnston’s gr. 6/7 class and I worked together again on their mixed media collage for the school’s gala fundraiser. Since I’d left the painting at the school last week, but needed to prepare for this next session, I decided to make a quick mock-up to help…
